San Diego Visit: June 21st -25th
Spent a wonderful weekend back in San Diego with Chris, Anastasia, and Madeline. Madeline is extremely adorable and has a lot of character. We were able to go to Balboa Park and also to Ocean Beach.
After going running with Chris and Anastasia, I am a little worried that they are training rather seriously. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with them. My next event is a sprint triathlon in Manassas, VA a week before our America's Finest City (San Diego) Half Marathon. One thing that I said I would have to do before my next triathlon would be to train in a pool. I found a pool near my place, but I have yet to actually swim in it. DC has a lot of facilities that are free to DC residents. The difficult part is finding the ones that are open during the hours you have available.

Great pix. It is unreal how grown up Madeline is getting. We can't wait for the first birthday.
On another note, I may end up being in the cheering section for the 1/2 in SD. I'm finding training tough, but I won't give up. Phili might be more realistic for me. I signed up recently and will make travel plans soon.
Ellen, let me know what you decide about running the AFC in SD. I am planning on asking my friend Ismael if he wants to run. Maybe he can use your registration - that'd be hilarious, a 24 year old Sudanese man running under the auspices of a 40+ female. I haven't talked to him about it yet, but thought it might be a fun way to experience American culture together.
Regardless, of whether you run this particular event, I think it's amazing how many Finnegan's are interested in running. Go Team Finn.
The big danger would be that Ismael would likely win the division! Once the officials found out, I'd get blocked from entering future races (some people take this stuff waaaay seriously). If I don't run, maybe he can use my bib #, but not my chip.
